They also have some great home furnishings right now...this mirrored dresser would be divine...if it was my style & if I had an extra $1300 just burning a hole in my pocket.

Scared to shop?

Over the past several months, as I've learned and explored the virtual world of art & craft, I've come to love and admire so many artists...hence the concern when I read this article in the NYTimes today. I know that I've started to scale back my purchases & have every intention of using that $600 check (if it comes!) to pay off bills rather than to shop frivolously!

Well, I guess I'll have to put together an 'inexpensive' gift guide...

A little glimpse of me

I'm one of those people who sees something...okay, anything...and says, "I can do that!" And, I like to think, I usually can do it. Ok, maybe it takes me a while to start, and sometimes to finish, but the results are just so satisfying.


Anyway, here and there over the past year, I've been inspired by letters on walls...after deciding on the text, I found the best letters at Paper Source. A little paint & some hangers I made from cloth scraps, & they're ready to hang. I still want to find some fun papers to cut & glue to the sides...

We're two geographically separated sisters who try to stay close through shared passions. As sisters raised by a mother intent on making us into the best of homemakers, we treasure things homeade and handmade. As job-holders with an occasional urge to splurge, we love hunting for those good finds. As young women who have rented forever, we dream of rooms, color combinations, and furniture.
